Optimal testosterone enhancement.
Testosterone is an important hormone that plays a key role in several different aspects of overall health, especially when it comes to maintaining body composition and boosting strength.
Testosterone is also thought to be involved in heart health, maintaining normal blood sugar levels and controlling inflammation.
However, testosterone also affects health in several other ways. In fact, some studies show that testosterone therapy could be beneficial for weight loss, strength training and bone health.
Some symptoms of low testosterone levels include but is not limited to: Low sex drive, Difficulty with erection, Low semen volume, Hair loss, Fatigue, Loss of muscle mass, Increased body fat, Decreased bone mass, Mood changes, Depression, Insomnia,
Affected memory, Smaller testicle size, Low blood counts.
Dosage:
Take one capsule once or twice a day or as directed by a health practitioner.
Ingredients
Tribulus terrestris
Tribulus is most commonly used to treat sexual dysfunction and enhance libido, but has also been associated with a long list of other health benefits, including reduced levels of inflammation, better heart health and improved blood sugar levels.
Tribulus terrestris is well-known for its natural ability to increase sex drive and improve sexual satisfaction.
According to a 2016 Tribulus terrestris review out of Bulgaria, it has also been shown to treat issues with sexual desire and prevent erectile dysfunction.
Tribulus terrestris decrease inflammation, which is believed to play an integral role in heart health, but it has also been shown to reduce several risk factors of heart disease.
Maca (Extract)
Those who regularly use Maca powder report that it makes them feel more awake, energised and driven, often relatively quickly after beginning to use it. Plus, maca can help increase energy without giving you the “jitters” or a sense of shakiness like high level of caffeine can.
One study out of Peru found that supplementing with maca for eight weeks increased sexual desire in men. Meanwhile, another study in 2001 found that maca helped improve sperm quality and motility, two important factors when it comes to male infertility.
Maca may also benefit sexual dysfunction. A 2010 review summarised the results of four clinical trials evaluating the effects of maca on libido and reported that two of the studies showed an improvement in sexual dysfunction and sexual desire in both men and women.
Those who regularly use maca powder report that it makes them feel more awake, energised and driven, often relatively quickly after beginning to use it. Several studies have also found that maca root benefits memory and focus.
L-Arginine
In the body, arginine is converted into nitric oxide, which causes blood vessels to open wider. This has multiple benefits, such as improving heart and brain health.
L-arginine stimulates the production of certain hormones, especially beneficial human growth hormones and insulin that help usher glucose into cells to be used for growth and energy output.
A number of studies have shown that L-arginine is involved in the process of proper cell replication in addition to enhancing blood circulation.
This means that arginine may benefit men by improving both sperm production and motility.
Men who deal with cardiovascular problems tied to low levels of nitric oxide in the blood are more likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction and fertility issues. Since an erection requires the relaxation of smooth muscles triggered by nitric oxide, L-Arginine can be very beneficial in someone suffering from ED. While not effective
for every man, research suggests that a significant percentage of male infertility cases (up to 92 percent, according to some studies) can be treated with L-arginine supplements.
Epimedium
Epimedium (also known as Horny Goat Weed) is a herb known as a natural aphrodisiac, as it has been shown in some studies to have positive effects on hormone production and libido.
Epimedium may be able to help normalise cortisol levels and reduce some of the negative effects of stress on the body, which can include lowered sex drive, mental fatigue and various problems with hormonal balance or sexual performance. By helping to normalise testosterone and oestrogen levels, it may be useful
for combatting symptoms like low energy, involuntary ejaculation and vaginal dryness.
After sexual stimulation, nitric oxide (NO) is released in order to dilate the blood vessels of the corpus cavernosum (tissue that forms the penis) in order to produce an erection. While this is happening a compound called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) accumulates, which can be broken down by the substance
PDE5. Because icariin (the active compound found in epimedium) has the ability to stop PDE5 from doing this, it boosts nitric oxide’s effects even more, helping to sustain an erection.
Icariin has been shown to have natural testosterone-mimicking properties, one reason it helps to improve sexual desire, strength and even athletic performance. In one study researchers found that icariin improved the overall condition of reproductive organs and increased the circulating levels of testosterone.
Fenugreek
Some fenugreek uses for men include treating hernias, erectile dysfunction and other male problems, such as baldness. That’s because fenugreek may increase sexual arousal and testosterone levels.
A study in the journal Phytotherapy Research reported that the herbal extract fenugreek boosted libido in 82% of men who consumed the dietary supplement in the six-week study.
In addition, 63% of the men taking the fenugreek noted an improvement in the quality of sexual performance and 67% of men indicated the herbal extract enhanced their sexual recovery time.
Saw Palmetto
The most important factor about saw palmetto is that it’s been shown to slow the production of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, so taking it is a strong step to improve prostate health. This enzyme converts the male hormone testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) — a sex steroid and androgen hormone.
While DHT is important because it plays a role in male development, it also contributes to many common health issues in men, such as loss of libido, an enlarged prostate and hair loss. By taking saw palmetto supplements, you inhibit the production of this hormone and avoid these issues that are seen in middle-aged and older
males.
The prostate gland can become inflamed or enlarged as men get older. The prostate then compresses the urethra, leading to difficulty with urination that results in bladder infections or bladder stones. Research shows that saw palmetto inhibits testosterone from binding to and stimulating prostate cells, which reduces the
multiplication of prostatic cells and prostatic enlargement.
Saw palmetto work as hair loss remedies because they keep testosterone levels balanced. As men age, the testosterone hormone is diminished and the hormone 5a-Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) increases.
The cause of hair loss is due to the hair follicles’ sensitivity to DHT, which is a male androgen hormone that causes follicles to shrink, resulting in a shorter life span and decrease of hair production.
Normally after hairs fall out, another hair starts to grow from this same follicle — but if DHT is high, hair growth decreases. Saw palmetto has the power to stop the conversion of testosterone into DHT, making it beneficial for hair growth.
That makes it one of the best sources to increase testosterone naturally and improve prostate health the natural way.
Eurycoma longifolia
Eurycoma longifolia, commonly known as Tongkat Ali, long jack, or Malaysian ginseng, is a plant with aphrodisiac and testosterone-boosting effects. Men use it to enhance sexual health and performance. Early research is also exploring the impact of this plant on osteoporosis, diabetes, and anxiety.
Some clinical evidence suggests that Tongkat Ali may improve the quality of sperm in infertile men.
In one 12-week study (DB-RCT) of 109 men (ages 30 to 55), Tongkat Ali increased sperm motility and semen volume, increased libido and improved erectile function compared to placebo.
In another 9-month study of 75 men with infertility, Tongkat Ali supplements improved semen volume, sperm concentration, sperm motility, and sperm quality, thereby improving infertility.
In another 12-week study (DB-RCT) of 26 men, Tongkat Ali improved sexual performance and increased the hardness and duration of erections.
Cordyceps
A 2010 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine demonstrated that supplementation with Cordyceps sinensis improved exercise performance and contributed to overall markers of wellness in older adults. Considered an energising adaptogen like other superfood herbs such as maca or
cacao, cordyceps are often used to help fight fatigue, treat muscle aches and prevent weakness.
Several studies suggest that cordyceps can boost athletic performance — improving physical abilities, endurance and stamina — partially because they boost the body’s supply of ATP, one of the primary sources of energy during exercise. Cordyceps contain adenosine, a type of nucleic acid that is needed to make ATP,
an “energy carrier” that is depleted in the muscles during physical activity.
Traditionally, people of both sexes took tonics made from cordyceps to enhance libido and improve reproductive function. Based on animal models, it appears that cordyceps supplements can help the body utilise oxygen more efficiently and improve blood flow, which is important for physical health and sexual function and may
improve fertility and libido.
L-Citrulline
Citrulline acts similar to nitric oxide supplements to increase levels of nitric oxide in the body, which is a compound that acts as a vasodilator to relax the muscles in the blood vessels and promote circulation.
Because of its ability to promote proper blood flow, it’s been linked to several possible health benefits. In particular, it is thought to decrease blood pressure, prevent erectile dysfunction and boost oxygen uptake to optimise exercise performance.
Because of their similarities, L-citrulline and L-arginine taken together is common in supplements geared toward treating conditions like high blood pressure and erectile dysfunction. Some studies have found that taking citrulline could increase arginine levels more effectively than arginine supplements alone.
Amino acids like L-citrulline are absolutely essential when it comes to muscle growth. Studies show that this important compound stimulates muscle protein synthesis and plays a central role in maintaining protein homeostasis.
One trial out of Mallorca, Spain, demonstrated that taking L-citrulline malate could improve the use of branched-chain amino acids during exercise and increase levels of human growth hormone, a type of protein hormone that is thought to improve physical capacity and muscle strength.
Some research suggests that this amino acid can help improve oxygen usage in the muscles, which can bring some big benefits when it comes to your workout routine. For example, a study in Journal of the International Society of Sports Medicine found that taking a citrulline supplement improved physical performance
for cyclists and even improved feelings of fatigue and concentration immediately after exercise.
Moringa
Moringa extract is a wonderful health tonic for inflammation-related diseases like, cancer, diabetes, anaemia, arthritis and other joint pain, such as rheumatism, allergies and asthma, constipation, stomach pains and and diarrhoea, epilepsy, stomach and intestinal ulcers or spasms, chronic headaches, heart problems,
including high blood pressure, kidney stones, fluid retention, thyroid disorders, low sex drive, bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic infections.
Moringa is an excellent source of protein, vitamin A, potassium, calcium and vitamin C. According to Kuli Kuli, an organisation that harvests moringa plants in Africa, gram for gram, moringa contains: two times the amount of protein of yogurt; four times the amount of vitamin A as carrots; three times the amount of potassium
as bananas; four times the amount of calcium as cows’ milk; seven times the amount of vitamin C as oranges.
Ginger
Ginger has many health benefits, with strong research showing it may reduce inflammation and even boost testosterone levels
Several studies in rats have found ginger has positive effects on testosterone levels and sexual function. In one 30-day study, researchers found ginger increased testosterone and luteinizing hormone in diabetic rats.
In another study, the rats’ testosterone levels nearly doubled. A third study found greater increases in testosterone when they doubled the amount of ginger they gave the rats.
In one of the few human studies, 75 infertile men were given a daily ginger supplement. After three months, they had experienced a 17% increase in testosterone levels and their levels of luteinising hormone had nearly doubled.
When measuring sperm health, the researchers found several improvements, including a 16% increase in sperm count.
Zinc
Known as an aphrodisiac, zinc is an essential mineral involved in more than 100 chemical processes within the body.
As with vitamin D, zinc levels within the body have been closely associated with testosterone levels.
One study that measured this association found that restricting zinc intake from foods lowered testosterone levels in healthy men. As expected, zinc supplements in zinc deficient men also increased testosterone levels.
Another study measured the effects of zinc on infertile men with either low or normal testosterone levels.
The researchers found significant benefits for those with low levels, including increased testosterone and sperm count. However, they found no additional benefit for men with normal levels.
In elite wrestlers, taking zinc each day also helped reduce a decline in testosterone levels following a 4-week high-intensity training regimen.
In light of these studies, zinc may help boost testosterone levels if you have low testosterone or are deficient in zinc. Taking zinc also appears to be helpful if you struggle to recover from high-intensity exercise.
D-Aspartic Acid
D-Aspartic acid is a natural amino acid that can boost low testosterone levels.
Research suggests that the primary way it works is by increasing follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinising hormone.
This is important, because luteinising hormone makes the Leydig cells in the testes produce more testosterone.
Initial research in animals and humans has found that as little as 12 days of D-aspartic acid seems to increase luteinising hormone as well as testosterone production and transportation around the body.
It may also aid in sperm quality and production. One 90-day study gave D-aspartic acid to men with impaired sperm production. Sperm count doubled, rising from 8.2 million sperm per ml to 16.5 million sperm per ml.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin produced in the skin when exposed to sunlight.
Its active form functions as a steroid hormone in the body.
Nowadays, due to office or indoor work, a large portion of the population has very little exposure to sunlight, resulting in low or deficient levels of vitamin D.
Increasing your vitamin D stores may boost testosterone and improve other related health measures, such as sperm quality.
One study found a close correlation between vitamin D deficiency and low testosterone. When participants spent more time in the summer sun and their vitamin D levels increased, so did their testosterone levels.
In a year-long study, 65 men were split into 2 groups. Half of them took 3,300 IU of vitamin D every day. The supplement group’s vitamin D levels doubled and their testosterone levels increased by around 20%, from 10.7 nmol/l to 13.4 nmol/l
Korean Ginseng (Panax ginseng)
Taking Korean ginseng seems to improve sexual arousal and treat erectile dysfunction in men. A 2008 systematic review included 28 randomised clinical studies that evaluated the effectiveness of Korean(red) ginseng for treating erectile dysfunction.
Of the 28 reviewed studies, six reported an improvement of erectile function when using red ginseng compared with placebo control. Four studies tested the effects of red ginseng for sexual function using questionnaires compared with placebo, and all trials reported positive effects of red ginseng.
Research done in 2002 at the Department of Physiology at Southern Illinois University’s School of Medicine indicates that ginseng’s ginsenoside components facilitate penile erections by directly inducing the vasodilatation and relaxation of the erectile tissue. It’s the release of nitric oxide from endothelial cells and perivascular
nerves that directly affect the erectile tissue.
The university’s research also indicates that ginseng affects the central nervous system and significantly alters the activity in the brain that facilitates hormonal behaviour and secretion.
